The Global Social Business Summit 2012 is set to begin in Vienna on 8 November 2012 bringing together all the main actors in the field of social business.
Immediately after professor yunus's arrival in Vienna two senior ministers of Austrian Government, Mrs Heinisch-Hosek  Mininser of Public Service and Women Affairs and Mr Rudolf Hundstorfer Minister of Social Affairs, came to meet him in his hotel room.
During the meeting, the Austrian Ministers were keen to learn how to support the set up and expansion of social business in Austria, and more widely in Europe, particularly as a way to tackle unemployment.  There is already  an initiative underway to bring social business in Austria with which both Ministers are already associated.
On November 7, there were pre meetings before the Summit. This included a meeting updating on Academia and Social Business, where universities working in the field of social business including creating courses and curriculum on social business, get together to  update on their activities.  More than twenty universities around the world from every continent participated in the academic meeting.
In parallel a meeting of Young Challengers, chosen from around the world, who are committed setting up social businesses in their countries, and also come to Vienna to challenge the participants on what their expectations are from the Summit, representing the voices of the world’s young.
In addition to these meetings, November 7 saw the arrival of HM Queen Sofia of Spain who will inmaugurate speak the Summit alongside Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday.
