Global Social Business Summit 2011 in Vienna
Pioneers of the worldwide Social Business movement come together for the Global Social Business Summit 2011 from the 10th-12th November at the Congress Center Messe Vienna to connect and exchange experiences about Social Business. For the first time this yearly summit with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank and initiator of Social Business, takes place in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
Under the motto "Pioneering for Results" the Global Social Business Summit 2011 brings together more than 400 individuals from the worldwide Social Business movement coming from the corporate, political, civil society and academic world. The event offers a unique opportunity to network and to gain an in-depth understanding of Social Business. High-level representatives from international companies such as Danone, Sandoz, BASF or Intel as well as high-ranking government representatives from Austria, Brazil, India and Bahrain, the EU Commission and the UN will gather to exchange experiences, initiate future projects and develop concrete goals. The discussions will focus on how to tackle new challenges through the globalization and the creation of political frameworks for Social Businesses worldwide.
One of the highlights of the summit is the public speech of Prof. Yunus and NASA astronaut Ron Garan on November 10th at 08:00 pm. The press conference with Prof. Yunus and Hans Reitz, creative advisor to the Yunus Centre in Dhaka and Managing Director of the Grameen Creative Lab in Wiesbaden, Germany, will take place on November 10th at 09:00 am. On the last day of the summit, November 12th, Prof. Yunus will meet artists at the Museumsquartier to discuss what art can do for Social Business.
