One Million Free Non-Medical Face Masks Provided by Grameen Telecom

Grameen Telecom will provide 1 million cloth masks, free of cost, to  underprivileged people who are unable to afford masks. 

72,000 pieces of masks have already been distributed through various organizations so far. 

According to various international research and announcements by the Health Ministry coronavirus transmission can be significantly reduced by using masks made of cloth, especially those with knit fabrics. 

Grameen Telecom has taken the initiative to reach out to the difficult-to-reach population and those who cannot afford to buy these masks.

As research shows, an infected person may spread the virus by sneezing, coughing and even by talking to others. These two-layer masks made of knit fabrics can prevent the corona virus from spreading. If everyone uses a mask, the coronavirus transmission may be greatly reduced.

These non-medical masks are being produced in the factory of Grameen Fabrics and Fashions Ltd. So far 2 lakh 5 thousand pieces of masks have been produced. From now on, 2 lakh pieces of masks will be produced every week.

বিনামূল্যে ১০ লক্ষ নন-মেডিকেল মাস্ক সরবরাহ করছে গ্রামীণ টেলিকম

দেশের একটি বিশাল জনগোষ্ঠি কোন ধরণের মাস্ক ক্রয় করতে সক্ষম নয়। এ ধরনের গরীব জনগোষ্ঠির জন্য বিনা মূল্যে ১০ লক্ষ পিস কাপড়ের তৈরী মাস্ক সরবরাহ শুরু করেছে গ্রামীণ টেলিকম। এ পর্যন্ত ৭২,০০০ পিস মাস্ক বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে বিতরণ করা হয়েছে।  আন্তর্জাতিক বিভিন্ন রিসার্স থেকে প্রাপ্ত তথ্য এবং স্বাস্থ্য অধিদপ্তরের ঘোষণা অনুযায়ী দেখা যায় কাপড়ের তৈরী বিশেষ করে নীট ফেব্রিকসের (গেঞ্জির কাপড়) তৈরী মাস্ক ব্যবহার করা হলে করোনা ভাইরাস সংক্রমন লক্ষনীয়ভাবে কমে যায়। যাদের এই মাস্ক কেনার সামর্থ নেই এবং যাদের কাছে এই মাস্ক পৌঁছাচ্ছে না তাদের কাছে এই মাস্ক পৌঁছানোর উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে গ্রামীণ টেলিকম।

দুই লেয়ার বিশিষ্ট্য নীট ফেব্রিকস এর মাস্ক ব্যবহার করা হলে করোনা আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তির হাঁচি, কাশি ও কথার মাধ্যমে ছড়ানো করোনা ভাইরাসের জীবাণু আটকানো যায়। এতে করে প্রত্যেকে মাস্ক ব্যবহার করলে করোনা ভাইরাস আক্রান্ত হওয়া বহুলাংশে কমে যাবে।

এসকল নন-মেডিকেল মাস্ক গ্রামীণ ফেব্রিকস এন্ড ফ্যাশানস্ লিঃ এর ফ্যাক্টারীতে তৈরী করা হচ্ছে। এ পর্যন্ত ২ লক্ষ ৫ হাজার পিস মাস্ক উৎপাদন সম্পন্ন হয়েছে। এখন থেকে প্রতি সপ্তাহে ২ লক্ষ পিস মাস্ক উৎপাদন করা হবে।
