The 9th Social Business Day, hosted by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, will be held on June 28-29, 2019 at the CentaraGrand & Bangkok Convention Centre, Central World in Bangkok, Thailand. It is jointly being organized by Yunus Centre, Dhaka, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Kasetsart University, Thailand.
This year, theme of the event will be “ Making Money is Happiness, Making Other People Happy is Super Happiness". Panel Discussions will address a range of topics related to the social business ecosystem ranging from food and agriculture, deforestation, green energy to education, health, technology, sports, culture and arts. Social Business Day is an annual event of experience sharing and goal setting for social business activists, supporters, partners, and investors and getting ready for the coming years.
The event attracts international and local social business activists, corporates and social leaders, leading NGOs, students, innovators and early adopters of the social business philosophy that looks to tackle socio economic problems at its core to update themselves on the social business frontier.
It also creates an opportunity for participants to engage in different plenary sessions and workshops, broaden the social business network and gain a holistic understanding of the operational, financial system that drives social businesses globally. Delegates look for new ideas and new partners for their next social business initiatives.
Bangkok will be the venue for Social Business Day for the first time. Eighth social business day event took place in Bangalore. All other previous social business days were held in Dhaka.
This year 1450 delegates from 58 countries have registered to attend the event. Professor Muhammad Yunus will inaugurate the event. Keynote speeches will be given by Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific and Mechai Viravaidya, Chairman, Mechai viravaidya Foundation and Father Enzo Fortunato, Spokeperson and Communication Director of The Holy Convent of Papal Basilica of Assisi.
In more than eleven Pecha Kuchas (a storytelling format, where a presenter shows 20 slides for 20 seconds of commentary each in 6 minutes and 40 seconds total), participants will discuss various ground breaking projects such as the Pracharat Rak Samakkee Social Business presented by Tongjai Thanachanan, Managing Director of C-ASEAN, Thailand, ‘Paris Olympics 2024’ presented by Marie Barsacq, Impact and Legacy Director of Paris 2024, which is the apex body responsible for organizing the Paris Olympic 2024, and Elisa Yavchitz, Representative of Mayor of Paris, and General Manager of Les Canaux, Paris representing the social sector of Paris.
There will be many other speakers in various sessions. In addition there will be nine country forums ranging from Bangladesh, China, Australasia, Japan, Europe etc where delegates from individual country will have separate conferences to address the most pressing socio economic issues plaguing their nation and try to come up with social business solutions to tackle those problem and review the existing social business in in their country.
There will also be the Pre-Conference of the Social Business Academia Network on June 29, 2019, in order to prepare for Social Business Academia Conference 2019 which will take place in November in Germany. Many of the representatives from Yunus Social Business Centres in 74 Universities in 34 countries will attend this Conference.

জুন ২৮-২৯, ২০১৯ থাইল্যান্ডের রাজধানী ব্যাংককে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে যাচ্ছে ৯ম সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবস। নোবেল লরিয়েট প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসের সভাপতিত্বে ব্যাংককের সেন্টারা গ্র্যান্ড এন্ড ব্যাংকক কনভেনশন সেন্টার, সেন্ট্রালওয়ার্ল্ড, ব্যাংককে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এই দিবস। অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করছে যৌথভাবে ইউনূস সেন্টার ঢাকা, এশিয়ান ইনস্টিটিউট অব টেকনোলজী এবং থাইল্যান্ডের কাসেটসার্ট ইউনিভার্সিটি।
এ বছরের সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবসের মূল বিষয়বস্তু “টাকা রোজগার করা সুখের. কিন্তু অন্য মানুষদের সুখী করা পরম সুখের” (Making Money is Happiness, Making Other People Happy is Super Happiness)। সম্মেলনের বিভিন্ন প্যানেলে সামাজিক ব্যবসা ইকো-সিস্টেমের সাথে সম্পর্কিত যেসব বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা হবে সেগুলো হচ্ছে: খাদ্য ও কৃষি, বনভূমি ধ্বংস, গ্রীণ এনার্জি, শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য, প্রযুক্তি, ক্রীড়া, সংস্কৃতি ও শিল্পকলা। সামাজিক ব্যবসার সাথে যুক্ত কর্মী, সমর্থক, অংশীদার ও বিনিয়োগকারীদের মধ্যে অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়, লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণ ও আগামী বছরগুলোতে করণীয় বিষয়ে আলোচনার উদ্দেশ্যে একটি নিয়মিত বাৎসরিক প্লাটফর্ম এই সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবস।
সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবসে অংশগ্রহণকারীদের মধ্যে রয়েছেন আন্তর্জাতিক ও স্থানীয় পর্যায়ের সামাজিক ব্যবসা কর্মী, কর্পোরেট ও সামাজিক নেতৃবৃন্দ, নেতৃস্থানীয় এনজিও, ছাত্র, উদ্ভাবক এবং সামাজিক ব্যবসার নীতি ও আদর্শে সমাজের বিভিন্ন সমস্যা মোকাবেলায় কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন এমন বিভিন্ন ব্যক্তি ও প্রতিষ্ঠান।
এছাড়াও অংশগ্রহণকারীরা সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবসের বিভিন্ন প্লেনারী সেশন ও কর্মশালায় যোগদানের মাধ্যমে তাঁদের সামাজিক ব্যবসা নেটওয়ার্ক সম্প্রসারণের সুযোগ পেয়ে থাকেন এবং বৈশ্বিক পর্যায়ে সামাজিক ব্যবসা কর্মকান্ডের পরিচালনা ও আর্থিক ব্যবস্থা সম্বন্ধে সম্যক ধারণা লাভ করে থাকেন। সম্মেলনের প্রতিনিধিরা তাঁদের পরবর্তী সামাজিক ব্যবসা উদ্যোগের জন্য নতুন নতুন আইডিয়া ও অংশীদোরের সন্ধান করে থাকেন।
ব্যাংককে এবারই প্রথম আয়োজিত হচ্ছে এই দিবস। অষ্টম সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবস অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল ভারতের ব্যাঙ্গালুরুতে। এর পূর্বের সবগুলো সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবসের অনুষ্ঠানস্থল ছিল ঢাকা।
পৃথিবীর ৫৮টি দেশ থেকে ১,৪৫০ জন প্রতিনিধি সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবসে অংশগ্রহণের জন্য নিবন্ধন করেছেন। সম্মেলন উদ্বোধন করবেন প্রফেসর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস। সম্মেলনে মূল ভাষণ প্রদান করবেন এশিয়া ও প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় অঞ্চলে জাতি সংঘ অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক কমিশনের নির্বাহী সচিব আরমিদা সালসিয়াহ আলিসজাহবানা, মেচাই বীরবৈদ্য ফাউন্ডেশনের চেয়ারম্যান মেচাই বীরবৈদ্য এবং দি হোলি কনভেন্ট অব প্যাপাল বাসিলিকা অব আসিসি-র মুখপাত্র ও যোগাযোগ বিষয়ক পরিচালক এনজো ফরতুনাতো।
সম্মেলনে ১১টিরও বেশী পেচা কুচা সেশনে (একটি কাহিনী বর্ণনা ফরম্যাট যেখানে একজন উপস্থাপক ২০ সেকেন্ডের মতামতের জন্য ২০টি করে ¯øাইড প্রদর্শন করেন Ñ প্রত্যেক উপস্থাপক মোট ৬ মিনিট ৪০ সেকেন্ড সময়ের মধ্যে) অংশগ্রহণকারীরা বিভিন্ন নতুন ধরনের প্রকল্প নিয়ে আলোচনা করবেন। এগুলোর মধ্যে থাকছে সি-এএসইএএন থাইল্যান্ডের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক টংজাই থানাচানানের উপস্থাপনায় “প্রাচারাত রাক সামাক্কী সোশ্যাল বিজনেস,” প্যারিস ২০২৪ অলিম্পিক গেমস আয়োজনের সর্বোচ্চ দায়িত্ব পালনকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান “প্যারিস ২০২৪” এর ইমপ্যাক্ট এন্ড লিগ্যাল ডিরেক্টর ম্যারী বারসাকের উপস্থাপনায় “প্যারিস অলিম্পিকস ২০২৪” এবং প্যারিসের সামাজিক খাতের উপর প্যারিস মেয়রের প্রতিনিধি ও ল্য ক্যানঅ, প্যারিসের জেনারেল ম্যানেজার এলিসা ইয়াভশিট্জ-এর একটি উপস্থাপনা।

সম্মেলনে আরো থাকছে ৮টি যুগপৎ অনুষ্ঠেয় কান্ট্রি ফোরাম যেখানে বাংলাদেশ, চীন, অষ্ট্রেলিয়া, জাপান ও ইউরোপের প্রতিনিধিরা স্ব-স্ব দেশ ও এলাকার বিভিন্ন সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যা নিয়ে আলোচনার উদ্দেশ্যে পৃথকভাবে বৈঠকে মিলিত হবেন, সামাজিক ব্যবসার মাধ্যমে কীভাবে এসব সমস্যার মোকাবেলা করা যায় তার উপায় খুঁজে বের করবেন এবং নিজ দেশে পরিচালিত সামাজিক ব্যবসা কর্মসূচিগুলোর অগ্রগতি পর্যালোচনা করবেন।
জুন ২৯, ২০১৯ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে সামাজিক ব্যবসা অ্যাকাডেমিয়া নেটওয়ার্কের একটি প্রাক-সম্মেলন। এ বছরের নভেম্বরে জার্মানীতে অনুষ্ঠেয় সামাজিক ব্যবসা অ্যাকাডেমিয়া সম্মেলনের প্রস্তুতিমূলক সভা হিসেবে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এই প্রাক-সম্মেলনটি যেখানে পৃথিবীর ৩৪টি দেশের ৭৪টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে প্রতিষ্ঠিত ইউনূস সোশ্যাল বিজনেস সেন্টারের প্রতিনিধিরা যোগদান করবেন।
