2000 Local & Global Participants and Panelists to Deliberate on Wealth Concentration
The 7th annual Social Business Day, organized by Yunus Centre, will be held on July 28- 29, 2017. This year’s theme will be “Can Wealth Concentration be Stopped” and will be held at Samajik Convention Centre in Zirabo, Savar, Dhaka. This is a newly built 2000 seat convention centre which will be operated as social business. Social Business Day (SBD) is a platform for sharing experiences in the emerging sector of social business for solving persistent social and economic problems around the world.
The annual event is aimed at bringing social business entrepreneurs from around the world to discuss, debate and exchange ideas. This year’s event will primarily focus on wealth concentration and to look for ways to narrow the widening wealth gap and innovative ways to achieve that.
Two-Day Event:
This two-day event will incorporate panel discussions amongst distinguished social business activists. Participants will hear first-hand accounts about the experiences of and the hurdles and challenges faced by Social Business entrepreneurs around the world.
Distinguished Speakers:
The event will be inaugurated by Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and will feature more than 2,000 guests and participants including 500 international participants representing over 36 countries. Mr. Thomas Gass, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, the focal point of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) will deliver the keynote speech. Notable other speakers will include Mr. Joël Bouzou, President of the World Olympians Association, representing Thomas Bach, the President of International Olympic Committee (IOC), Keith Tuffley, CEO, The B Team, Switzerland, an association of top business leaders of the world looking for ways to make businesses people and planet focused, Jacques Berger, Managing Director, Action Tank Entreprise et Pauvreté, a formal association of a dozen top multi-national companies of France dedicated to creating parallel business as social business along with conventional business, Dato' Charon Mokhzani, representative of Tan Sri Dato' Azman Mokhtar, Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the Malaysian government owned multibillion dollar investment fund, Hon. Plenary & Panel Sessions:
There will be three main plenary discussions including one on wealth concentration, one on corporates creating social business as parallel businesses and one social business in sports. In addition there will also be discussions in different panel sessions to highlight issues such as “How to find and work with joint venture partners?,’ “Social Business replication”, “What can I do to mobilize energy behind social business in my country?” and “Social Business for Physically challenged people” among others. There will be 15 panel discussions in two days.
Country Forum:
There will be 9 country forums where social business practitioners, investors and enthusiasts will deliberate on the state of social business in their respective countries. The countries which will hold separate Country Forums are Bangladesh, China, Malaysia, Japan, India, Australia New Zealand and Pacific, Thailand, Europe and Latin America.
Market Place:
There will be a social business marketplace which will offer greater networking opportunities. The marketplace will showcase the products and programs of social business working in Bangladesh and various countries of Asia, Europe and Latin America. ‘New Entrepreneurs’, the programme which helps unemployed youth to become independent entrepreneurs, will also bring their products at the market place.
Social Business Academia Pre-Conference
On July 30, another conference will be held on social business. This will be the Pre-Conference of Social Business Academia Conference, of which the final conference will be held in Paris on November 8, 2017. Professors, students, researchers from universities around the world, most of which have established Yunus Social Business Centres (YSBC), will discuss academic issues relating theory and practice of social business.

২৮-২৯ জুলাই ২০১৭ উদ্যাপিত হতে যাচ্ছে ৭ম বার্ষিক সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবস। ইউনূস সেন্টারের আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত এ বছরের সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবসের মূল আলোচ্য বিষয় হচ্ছে: “সম্পদ কেন্দ্রীকরণ বন্ধ করা কি সম্ভব?”
৭ম বার্ষিক সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবস অনুষ্ঠিত হবে জিরাবো, সাভার, ঢাকায় অবস্থিত “সামাজিক কনভেনশন সেন্টার”-এ। নবনির্মিত এই ২,০০০ আসনের কনভেনশন সেন্টারটি নিজেই একটি সামাজিক ব্যবসা হিসেবে পরিচালিত হবে। সামাজিক ব্যবসা দিবস বিশ্ব জুড়ে জরুরী সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক সমস্যাগুলো সমাধানকল্পে সামাজিক ব্যবসার অধীনে অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়ের একটি বৈশ্বিক প্লাটফর্ম।
এই বাৎসরিক সম্মেলনের উদ্দেশ্য পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশের সামাজিক ব্যবসা উদ্যোক্তাদের মধ্যে বিভিন্ন আইডিয়া নিয়ে আলোচনা, বিতর্ক ও অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়। এ বছরের অনুষ্ঠানে সম্পদ কেন্দ্রীকরণ এবং ক্রমবর্ধমান সম্পদ বৈষম্য কমিয়ে আনার বিভিন্ন উদ্ভাবনমূলক উপায় নিয়ে বিশেষভাবে জোর দেয়া হবে।
দুই দিনের অনুষ্ঠান
দু’দিন ধরে চলা এই সম্মেলনে থাকছে বিশ্ব জুড়ে সামাজিক ব্যবসা নিয়ে কাজ করছেন এমন বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিদের বক্তব্য এবং তা নিয়ে আলোচনা। অংশগ্রহণকারীরা পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশের সামাজিক ব্যবসায়ীদের নিকট থেকে তাঁদের বিভিন্ন অভিজ্ঞতা, সমস্যা ও চ্যালেঞ্জ সম্পর্কে সরাসরি জানতে পারবেন।
কারা আছেন বিশিষ্ট বক্তাদের তালিকায়

প্লেনারী ও প্যানেল সেশন
অনুষ্ঠানে তিনটি প্রধান প্লেনারী আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। এর একটি হবে সম্পদ কেন্দ্রীকরণের উপর, একটি সমান্তরাল ব্যবসা হিসেবে কর্পোরেট সৃষ্ট সামাজিক ব্যবসার উপর, এবং আরেকটি হবে ক্রীড়া জগতে সামাজিক ব্যবসায়ের ভূমিকার উপর । এছাড়াও থাকছে বিভিন্ন প্যানেল সেশন। প্যানেল সেশনগুলো যেসব বিষয়ের উপর আলোকপাত করবে তার মধ্যে থাকবে: “কীভাবে জয়েন্ট ভেঞ্চার পার্টনার খুঁজে বের করা যায় ও তাদের সাথে কাজ করা যায়”, “সামাজিক ব্যবসার রেপ্লিকেশন”, “নিজ দেশে সামাজিক ব্যবসার জন্য কীভাবে সম্পদ সমাবেশ করা যায়”, এবং “শারীরিকভাবে প্রতিবন্ধী মানুষদের জন্য সামাজিক ব্যবসা”। সম্মেলনের দুই দিনে ১৫টি প্যানেল আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
কান্ট্রি ফোরাম
অনুষ্ঠানে আরো থাকছে ৯টি দেশীয় ফোরাম যেখানে সামাজিক ব্যবসা পরিচালনাকারী, সামাজিক ব্যবসায়ে বিনিয়োগকারী এবং সামাজিক ব্যবসায়ে উৎসাহীগণ তাঁদের নিজ নিজ দেশে সামাজিক ব্যাবসা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে আলোচনা ও মত বিনিময় করবেন। যেসব দেশ নিজ নিজ কান্ট্রি ফোরাম অনুষ্ঠান করবে সেগুলো হচ্ছে: বাংলাদেশ, চীন, মালয়েশিয়া, জাপান, ভারত, অষ্ট্রেলিয়া নিউজিল্যান্ড ও প্যাসিফিক, থাইল্যান্ড, ইউরোপ ও ল্যাটিন আমেরিকা।
মার্কেট প্লেস
এছাড়াও সম্মেলনে থাকছে একটি সামাজিক ব্যবসা মার্কেটপ্লেস যা অংশগ্রগণকারীদেরকে বৃহত্তর নেটওয়ার্কিংয়ের সুযোগ এনে দেবে। মার্কেটপ্লেসে বাংলাদেশ এবং এশিয়া, ইউরোপ ও ল্যাটিন আমেরিকার বিভিন্ন দেশে কাজ করছে এমন বিভিন্ন সামাজিক ব্যবসার পণ্য ও কর্মসূচির প্রদর্শনী থাকবে। “নবীন উদ্যোক্তা” কর্মসূচি, যা বেকার তরুণদেরকে আতœ-নির্ভর উদ্যোক্তায় পরিণত হতে সহায়তা করে যাচ্ছে, মার্কেটপ্লেসে নবীন উদ্যোক্তাদের উৎপাদিত বিভিন্ন পণ্য সমাবেশের আয়োজন করবে।
সামাজিক ব্যবসা অ্যাকাডেমিয়া প্রাক-সম্মেলন
৩০ জুলাই সামাজিক ব্যবসার উপর আরেকটি সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। নভেম্বর ৮, ২০১৭ প্যারিসে অনুষ্ঠেয় সামাজিক ব্যবসা অ্যাকাডেমিয়া কনফারেন্সের একটি প্রাক-সম্মেলন হিসেবে এটি অনুষ্ঠিত হচ্ছে। ইউনূস সামাজিক ব্যবসা কেন্দ্র স্থাপিত হয়েছে পৃথিবীর এমন বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সহ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অধ্যাপক, ছাত্র ও গবেষকবৃন্দ সামাজিক ব্যবসার তত্ত্ব ও প্রয়োগ সংক্রান্ত অ্যাকাডেমিক বিষয়সমূহ নিয়ে আলোচনা করতে এখানে সমাবেত হবেন।
